Capital K9s is a 501(c)(3) that relies exclusively on donations to maintain and expand the Madison Police Department K9 Unit. You can help, and it’s easy! No amount is too small!

Your donation is used to purchase dogs, squad cars, and equipment, and it pays for all training and some veterinary care. Taxpayer funds are not used for these expenditures.

Costs continually rise, and the need for replacements is ever-present. Squad cars are strenuously used on a daily basis and depreciate rapidly. We must ensure safe, properly-functioning equipment in order to protect the citizens of Madison.

In addition to protecting their human officers, these amazing K9s:

  • Locate missing persons
  • Search buildings
  • Detect drugs
  • Help apprehend suspects
